Harriett Maria Rodriguez Garcia

Harriett Maria Rodriguez Garcia, age 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 1, 2021, in the city of St. Cloud, Florida, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was born on September 18, 1945, in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, to Jose Rodriguez and Estebana Garcia. She married Hugo Arjona, who preceded her in death in 1999. In 2007, she moved to the United States. Harriett loved God and her entire family very much. She loved and dedicated her entire life to her only daughter, and they enjoyed going shopping, talking, going to parks, and spending time with Scott, her only grandson. She enjoyed taking care of her grandson Scott and playing with him; they often enjoyed playing hide-and-seek and doing word puzzles together. Harriett had many interests, such as knitting; solving word puzzles and crosswords; and collecting caps, keychains, and stamps. She also loved flowers, pets, and stuffed animals. Harriett loved reading the Bible every night, but in her later years, Alzheimer’s took away most of her abilities; now, all that suffering has ended. She was cared for by her daughter, but in her final weeks, she was cared for around the clock in hospice care. She is now waiting for the resurrection, a wonderful promise that she firmly believed in. Harriett is survived by her daughter Tatiana Schlingmann and husband Gregory Schlingmann, sisters Praxcedis and husband Jerome, Elizabeth (Cornelio d.), Diana and husband Ricardo, Debbie and husband Manuel, her brother Elbert and wife Beatriz, sister-in-law Ruby (Carlos d.), her grandson Scott, and many nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved very dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Estebana, her husband Hugo, her brother-in-law Cornelio, and her brother Carlos. Harriett María Rodríguez García, de 76 años, falleció pacíficamente mientras dormía el viernes 1 de octubre de 2021, en la ciudad de St. Cloud, Florida, debido a complicaciones de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. Nació el 18 de septiembre de 1945 en la ciudad de Barranquilla, Colombia, sus padres fueron José Rodríguez y Estebana García. Se casó con Hugo Arjona, quien la precedió en la muerte en 1999. En el 2007, se mudó a los Estados Unidos. Harriett amaba mucho a Dios y a toda su familia. Ella amó y dedicó toda su vida a su única hija, y disfrutaban yendo de compras, conversando, yendo a los parques y pasando tiempo con Scott, su único nieto. Disfrutaba cuidando de su nieto Scott y jugando con él; a menudo disfrutaban jugando al escondite y haciendo sopas de letras juntos. Harriett tenía muchos intereses, como tejer; resolver sopas de letras y crucigramas; y coleccionar gorras, llaveros y estampillas. También amaba las flores, las mascotas, y los animales de peluche. A Harriett le sobreviven su hija Tatiana Schlingmann y su esposo Gregory Schlingmann, sus hermanas Praxcedis y su esposo Jerome, Elizabeth (Cornelio f.), Diana y su esposo Ricardo, Debbie y su esposo Manuel, su hermano Elbert y su esposa Beatriz, su cuñada Ruby (Carlos f.), su nieto Scott y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, a quienes amaba mucho.
