McCrary, Lillian Leona It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Lillian (Cunningham) McCrary, 74, of Saint Cloud, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving children and grandson. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Christine Bowman (Brian Locke), of Saint Cloud; son, James (Lynn) McCrary of Saint Cloud; daughter, Brenda K. Peterson (Darryl) and by her 7 grandchildren, Tyson McCrary, Nicole McCrary, Steven McCrary, Johnathan McCrary, Rebecca McCrary, Laurel Peterson, and Jylian Peterson. Lillian will also be fondly remembered by her sister, Mae Meeks. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Norman E. McCrary in 2013, her daughter Anne Nicole McCrary in 1988, as well as her parents. Lillian was born in Canton, Ohio on January 26, 1944 to Roy Cunningham and Hazel Marie Metz Cunningham. Lillian enjoyed her family, genealogy, history, politics, and membership in lineage and genealogical societies. Lillian was a member of the Joshua Stevens Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; a charter member of the Amos P. Carr Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the Union, 1861-1865; The Ernst d'Erlach Chapter of the Huguenots Society of Florida, Inc.; The Heartland Regents Council; the Louisa May Alcott Tent 11 Daughters of the Union Civil War; the National Society Daughters of 1812; the Lola Sanchez Chapter #21 Order of the Confederate Rose, Florida Society; the Black Rose Society; United Daughters of the Confederacy; and was a Friend of the Jamestown Society. Lillian was also involved in the Women's Club of Saint Cloud and the Narcoossee Chapter, Osceola County Historical Society. Lillian was very involved in her community and was a true leader. She will be remembered for her quick wit and intelligence as well as for her loyalty and love. She had an amazing spirit and was inspirational and welcoming to all with whom she came into contact. She was contagious in her enthusiasm for anything patriotic. Her legacy will shine as brightly as Lillian did. She was a strong woman who was victorious regardless of circumstance. She was courageous in her battle with her long-term illness and faced her illness with grace. A celebration of life will be held on August 18th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fat Boys Restaurant Banquet Room St. Cloud, FL.
