January 29, 1959 - August 13, 2021
Antonietta Marshall (Pesce) was born to Joseph Mario “Peppy” & Florence Pesce on January 29, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio as a preemie. She came into the world earlier than expected and she left us far too early as well. At the age of 62. She spent her childhood in the warm, delicious aroma of her family’s pizza shop, Peppy’s Original DiCarlo’s Pizza in Steubenville. She grew up surrounded by family and friends, weekends with the cousins, big holiday celebrations, many parties, and fun. She cherished her relationship with family and her lifelong friendships. She inherited a strong work ethic from her parents and helping at the family business. She had her first job at such a young age that it was most likely illegal. She went on to obtain various licenses and accreditations, and a degree in Early Childhood Development from Jefferson Community College where she graduated at the top of her class. She was very well-rounded in her many career endeavors. She started her professional life working for the local newspaper and then moved on to a bank. Using her inherited creativity and sewing knowledge, she opened Precious Moments, a bridal store, where she sold prom, wedding and bridesmaid gowns. She utilized her degree by teaching Pre-K classes at a parochial school, where she loved watching her students grow and become ready for kindergarten. Her professional career also included owning a mobile pizza shop, working in administration for a credit union, and eventually becoming a cast member at the most magical place on earth, Disney World. She married David Marshall on August 22, 1981 and they relocated to New Jersey where they started their family in the years that followed. Antonietta cherished every part of motherhood. Her children were always her most cherished gift in life. Never far from their sides, she was their biggest supporter and their greatest confidant. She was constantly there to laugh with them, shower them with love, and enjoy life by their side. She embraced being a Nana with just as much vitality. She could not get enough of her granddaughter, Inara, and spent countless joyful hours in her company. Antonietta had the biggest heart, the brightest smile, and a contagious laugh. She was always a joy to be around and so incredibly strong. No matter what she was going through she constantly had a smile on her face and was eager to talk and laugh for hours with family and friends. She was famous for her cheesecake and cheesecake cookies and for always having Equal in her purse. She was a self-taught sewer known for crafting the best Halloween costumes, which included making her daughter into Tanya Mousekewitz from An American Tail, complete with full-face, soft-sculpted head and mask. Antonietta was always one for making the most of her time spent together with the people she loved. When she left us suddenly on the morning of August 13, 2021, she also left an unfillable void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. She will forever be greatly missed. Antonietta was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph Mario “Peppy” Pesce Sr. She is survived by her mother, Florence Pesce of Galena, OH, her husband David Marshall of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Natalie (William) Petersen of Kissimmee, FL, son Tylor Marshall of Kissimmee, FL, brother Joseph Mario Pesce Jr. of Powell, OH, and sister Mia (Benjamin) Coleman of Galena, OH; beloved granddaughter Inara, nephew Charlie, and nieces Piper and Evie.
