Lindsay ‘Lynn’ Thistle Winter, a radiant soul and cornerstone of love, peacefully departed this life in Clermont, Florida on July 24, 2023, at the age of 70, surrounded by her cherished family. After a valiant fight against liver cancer, Lynn embraced her next journey with characteristic courage and grace. Lynn was more than words could encapsulate; an extraordinary woman whose spirit was indefatigable. Robust in will, radiant in compassion, and brimming with unwavering positivity, she was a beacon for all who were privileged to know her. No matter the circumstance, she was our reliable lighthouse - a source of guidance, warmth, and unending encouragement. Her magnetism drew countless friends and she was celebrated as an integral pillar of every community she graced. Born on February 4th, 1953, to late John and Mary Thistle in Philadelphia, PA, Lynn graduated from Ridley high school in 1971. She began her vibrant journey working at Fidelity bank, serving in the Air Force Reserves, and providing valuable assistance as a secretary in Rose Tree media and Orange County school districts. It was in these moments she found her deep passion for service, igniting her love for nursing and advocating for special education programs. She devoted herself to making a positive impact, offering guidance, faith, and teaching about God to those in need. The summer of 1977 brought the love of Lynn’s life, Bruce Winter. Their love story began on July 24th, blossomed into marriage in 1978, and grew with the birth of their three children, Nathan, Lauryn, and Victoria. Lynn was the steadfast bedrock of our family, nurturing the values of unity and faith. An exceptional gift-giver and a wise advisor, she had an innate knack for making any day special. Her endless love extended beyond her family to her friends and her church; she found immense joy in lending a helping hand. Her artistic talents shone through her remarkable sewing, home designing, and gardening skills. When not weaving love into the fabric of our home, she was attending her grandchildren’s school events, scouting new sewing projects, or giving back to the community. Lynn leaves behind her adoring husband, Bruce, her sister, Serena Casole, her brother, Robert, her sister, Bonnie Thistle, and her children, Nathan, Lauryn, and Victoria. Her legacy of love also continues through her seven grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family requests that floral donations be made to the church of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
